OUR STORY
The Missionary Community of the Holy Spirit came into existence in 1971 in Kyoto, Japan with the knowledge and approval of Bishop Paul Y. Furuya and Auxiliary Bishop Paul H. Yasuda.
It is a Private Association of the Faithful founded by Sister Eva Francis Cereghino.
In the United States, the Community first lived in the Diocese of San Bernardino, California. As more members joined, the Community moved to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles where the majority of the sisters reside and work. There are also a large number of sisters living in the New York and Texas area. Our community has spread to other countries such as the Philippines and London.
We are at the service of the Church and obedient to the bishops of the places where we reside.
